3. Working with multiple classes of year 7-9 students, for one-hour sessions per week
4. Collaborate with approachable and transparent leadership and small team of 4, including two Library Technicians
5. Receive a salary commensurate with your demonstrated expertise and experience
Key duties:
6. Providing instruction to students on information literacy skills, including how to locate, evaluate, and use information effectively and ethically.
7. Teach students how to navigate library resources, databases, and online research tools.
8. Collaborating with classroom teachers to integrate information literacy skills into the curriculum across various subject areas.
9. Selecting and managing the library's collection of print and digital resources to meet the diverse needs and interests of students and staff.
10. Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the library, including cataloguing, shelving, and organizing materials, managing circulation services, and maintaining the library's physical space.
11. Staying current with emerging technologies and digital resources relevant to education and librarianship.
12. Promoting a culture of reading and literacy within the school community by organizing book clubs, author visits, reading challenges, and other literacy events.
13. Collaborating with classroom teachers to co-teach lessons, develop learning activities, and plan units of study that integrate library resources and skills.
Skills & Experience:
14. Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
15. Must have VIT registration
16. Must have previous experience in a teacher/librarian role to be elligible
17. Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
