Overview
to provide analysis, commercial insights and outlooks that drive strategic decision-making across Forward Trading, Spot Trading, Portfolio Optimisation, Origination and Customer. The analysis and insights generated will lead to improved decision making across the rest of GEMS ANZ and the wider ANZ business.
Responsibilities:
1. Own the relationship and communication with external consultants and communicate outputs of long-term price modelling to internal stakeholders
2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external consultants on long-term price models, ensuring alignment with ENGIE’s views
3. Manage, document, and lead the development of internal assumptions used in a variety of scenarios in ENGIE’s long-term modelling
4. Collaborate with global business units in the development of corporate strategies for ENGIE and represent the Australian perspective in global discussions and decision-making processes as needed
5. Digest key reports from internal and external sources (e.g. consultant reports, ESOO, Gov announcements) and disseminate key information within the team and to other departments as needed
6. Keep in touch with relevant energy market news and share insights with team and stakeholders while contributing to formulating ENGIE’s view on trends in long-term commodity prices
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in the field. You will bring forward your broad knowledge of long-term price modelling and energy market principles including NEM or gas markets dispatch processes, generator behaviour, network constraints, and power system operations as well as long-term price drivers.
You will also have keen interest in understanding energy market drivers as well as experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including project management. Data analytics proficiency including SQL, Python, R, VBA, and PowerBI will be advantageous.

The Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) business unit is the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group. GEMS teams manage a large and highly diversified energy portfolio, including electricity, natural gas, biomass, LNG and other fuels, CO2 and environmental products, and provide a range of trading risk management solutions to all types of market participants in Europe, Asia Pacific and in the Americas.
