Are you a detail-oriented and driven individual with a passion for numbers and financial accuracy? We are seeking a full time Accountant / Analyst to contribute to a dynamic finance department. Role Purpose:
The Accountant provides detailed support to the accounting department, including preparing monthly accounts, payroll, PAYG, taxes, and superannuation. The role also includes HR administration, subcontractor engagement, and handling various AR and AP tasks.
Responsibilities:
1. Management Accounts Support: Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare/input journals.
2. Payroll Administration: Input weekly/monthly payroll data, prepare journals for wages and superannuation, update salary increases, and calculate termination payments.
3. Compliance Support: Prepare and import journals for WorkCover and payroll tax, lodge payroll tax returns, and manage superannuation returns.
4. Year-End Payroll Reconciliation: Handle reconciliations for payroll tax, PAYG, workers compensation, and superannuation.
5. HR File Administration: Review new employee files, update wage data, and manage salary sacrifice agreements.
6. Subcontractor Payments: Set up and maintain HR and Translogix files, prepare subcontractor invoices, and process payments.
7. AR and AP Backup: Input creditor coding data, review invoice reconciliations, and process payments.
8. Miscellaneous Support: Provide high-level analysis and support as needed, using Excel and other tools.
Requirements:
Experience: 5-10 years in accounting
Qualifications: Degree in Business Administration and/or Accounting, CPA preferred
Skills: Experience with in-house accounting systems (Translogix ideal), payroll experience, strong Excel and MS Suite skills, demonstrated performance around deadlines and accuracy, team-focused
