The ICT Operations Branch provides ICT support and underpinning infrastructure services to the department and the Ministers’ Offices, ensuring all staff in the department and MOs have access to stable and secure technology.The ICT Networks & Infrastructure Platforms section falls within the ICT Operations Branch. The Infrastructure Platforms team is responsible for the management of all data centers, virtualization, automation, storage, backup and restore capability. The team is also responsible for providing after hours on-call support for our infrastructure.The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for operation of the two departmental Data Centers. You will take ownership of the current project to replace the aging UPS and AC in our primary Data Centre location.Key duties and responsibilitiesYou will oversee managing daily operations of the primary Data Centre, including UPS and AC monitoring.Handling rack management, cabling and space optimization.You will co-ordinate with vendors for maintenance, upgrades and compliance, monitoring system performance and utilization through various systems including vROPs and EcoStruxure DCO/DCE.You will also enforce security and best practice frameworks to ensure the best possible uptime.The department is seeking to progress a project to upgrade its on-prem data centre infrastructure in the coming months, and you will be a key technical resource to support this project, with overall project management and installation works to be carried out by third parties.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeContractJob functionEngineering, Information Technology, and Strategy/PlanningIndustriesIT Services and IT Consulting, Government Administration, and Data Infrastructure and Analytics
