Role & Responsibilities: Ensuring that Newcastle Anglican takes an all agency and strategic approach to the management of risk; Supporting the Executive Director of Quality, Safety and Risk in promoting risk-based considerations with risk appetite statement, risk management and business cases through ELT, the NAC Board and, where appropriate, the Diocesan Council. Promoting a strong risk culture that reinforces risk as core to strategy, business operations Assisting the Executive Director in improving the overall Risk maturity with a focus on the annual risk management and continuous management of the Risk Management framework Identifying and assessing emerging risks and recommending approaches to managing these risks Performing risk assessments for operational and strategic areas across NAC and developing risk mitigation plans and support their effective implementation. Providing risk management reporting to the Board, Senior Leadership, Management and Audit and Risk Committee. Providing guidance for and managing the research, development and review of organisation-wide policy documents ensuring legislative, regulatory, organisational needs are met and the Newcastle Anglican policy position is properly represented and in line with our maturity framework. Coordinating the annual placement of insurance policies and ensure strong working relationships with our insurance broker and insurers including in the submission of claims. Supporting compliance management processes by designing and implementing a comprehensive compliance framework that aligns with Newcastle Anglican's strategic pillars and risk appetite Overseeing the development and implementation by operational areas of compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to NAC's specific needs and regulatory requirements. Lead a team of direct and indirect reports About you? Tertiary qualifications in risk management, compliance or a related discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience in that field A risk and compliance leader with demonstrable experience leading and implementing a risk and compliance function Background in a complex organisation Strong influencing and negotiation skills demonstrating high levels of commerciality and pragmatism. Proven experience in promoting and delivering continuous improvement, reviewing policies, procedures and systems, based on best practice and innovation. Demonstrated management competence in: Leadership; Operational Planning; Organisation Management; Continuous Quality Improvement; Human Resources; Time Management; External Relations; and Service Provision Demonstrated comprehensive high level knowledge of the Health and Aged Care, Not for Profit, Disability and Social Services Sectors including funding and policy protocols, accreditation and industrial legislation will be beneficial.
