Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Adelaide. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for performing daily machining duties on CNC or manually controlled machines, ensuring precision and quality in every task.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Training and Development: Mentor and guide apprentices and shop personnel, fostering a culture of growth and excellence within the team.
* Clear Communication: Build and maintain strong communication channels, ensuring seamless collaboration across all levels of the operation.
* Safety and Compliance: Uphold strict adherence to standard operating procedures and safe work practices across all operating centres, prioritizing safety at every step.
* Accurate Record Keeping: Ensure precise completion of job, time, and clocking cards, contributing to efficient workflow and accountability.
* Continuous Learning: Participate in training and upskilling initiatives to stay ahead of industry standards and provide the best service to our clients.
* Quality Assurance: Complete product, repair, and inspection documentation with attention to detail, aligning with our Quality Management System and corporate policies.
* Operational Excellence: Maintain and create accurate daily records, ensuring consistency and reliability in all operations.
* Machining Expertise: Perform machining tasks in line with engineering drawings and instructions, ensuring high-quality and precision.
* Shift Flexibility: Adapt to shift work as required, supporting our continuous operations and maintaining workflow efficiency.
* Machine and Infrastructure Care: Proactively report faults or issues with machinery and infrastructure to OEMs, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
* Safety First: Identify and escalate any discrepancies between operational procedures and safety protocols to senior management.
* Additional Support: Assist with fitting, maintenance, and general hand duties when needed, contributing to the smooth running of operations.
* Equipment Management: Take care of, maintain, and organize company gauges and measuring equipment to ensure precise operations.
* Business Growth: Collaborate with the operations team to drive business growth through client relations and project diversification.
Qualifications:
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to interact with customers, suppliers and employees.
* Familiarity with manufacturing excellence, including modern techniques based on lean manufacturing, 5S, waste elimination and visual communication.
* Understand the difference between grades of steel and their machining characteristics.
* Understand the operation of manual and computer controlled turning and milling equipment.
* At least 5 years of experience operating and programming manual metalworking machinery in a customer-focused manufacturing environment is essential.
* A current and appropriate Trade Certificate.
* Must hold all required licenses to operate company vehicles, equipment and machinery (e.g., forklift) relevant to this position.
* Physical fitness appropriate to the role.
