THE ROLE

Austrade’s TradeStart network delivers Austrade services through local public sector and industry organisations throughout Australia. In ACT our partner is the Directorate of Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development with the role residing within The Office of International Engagement (OIE).
The TradeStart Adviser will deliver OIE services and will work closely with Austrade’s teams in Australia and overseas to deliver Austrade services. They will be responsible for the provision of practical exporting advice and assistance to export ready Australian businesses.
The successful applicant will have strong background in the practical aspects of international trade and highly developed skills in key account and relationship management. They will have an understanding the factors and decisions that are relevant to business at various stages of growth and internationalisation, will be comfortable working in virtual teams and have demonstrated high-level communication and representation skills.
There will be a specific focus on assisting ACT firms in the critical and enabling technologies space. This includes: AI technologies; advanced ICT; autonomous systems; robotics; positioning, timing & sensing systems; biotechnologies; digital; fintech; industry tech; quantum technology.
Please note that the successful candidate will need Australian Citizenship and agree to submit themselves to an Austrade vetting process. This includes obtaining and maintaining an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.
