About the Team
NDIA, Office of the CIO (OCIO) is undertaking major work programs to deliver innovative fit-for-need ICT-based solutions to improve the National Disability Insurance Scheme. The Corporate Systems directorate is part of Scheme Digital Platforms (SDP) and is responsible for planning and managing the OCIO vendor portfolio, defining OCIO vendors requirements, finding the best available vendors, and cultivating and maintaining vendors and stakeholders relationships. The Corporate Systems directorate provides advice to OCIO on ICT Investment to help drive NDIA Digital Transformation.
Purpose
This role is responsible for ongoing development of domain architecture and designs supporting the enterprise and business services across the Schemes participant, provider, and partner domains. The Domain Solutions Architect role specifically focuses on enhancing facilities and capabilities that support the realisation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme strategic objectives including all evolving digital transformation initiatives. Domain Solution Architecture design operates across cloud and on-premises installations and includes specification and configuration management services associated with the ongoing and emerging services of the NDIA.
Duties
Develop a domain architecture strategy based with Agency goals and objectives.
Deliver high quality multi-domain architectures that are fit for business purpose.
Interact with NDIA service domain owners to ensure delivery of appropriate infrastructure services to address existing and evolving requirements.
Take a lead role in the analysis and development of supporting technical architecture to achieve stated NDIA business capability and service objectives, including: Specification of deployment environmental configurations, development of service requirements specifications, design of logical network configurations, design of logical service configurations, design of logical server configurations.
Assist with the design and specification of virtual execution environments in managed private and publicly hosted cloud environments across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Service instances.
Provide expert infrastructure and environment advice and assistance to NDIA project teams who are developing software solutions in a number of Platform as a Service instances operating in the mixed cloud hosted environments.
Liaise with technical solution stakeholders to ensure expected business outcomes.
Maintain oversight of strategic architecture capabilities that are developed within the approved technology base of the Agency.
Assist with the resolution of complex issues arising from legislative, operational, or environmental changes.
Assist with technical decision making to resolve future state capability development.
Present architecture design solutions at the appropriate OCIO forums for endorsement.
Bachelor of Science/Business in Information Technology or equivalent tertiary qualification.
A minimum of 5 years experience working as a Domain Solutions Architect delivering solutions within public/private cloud services space.
Microsoft Azure and/or AWS Architecture certifications.
Broad technical & architectural background delivering solution architectures for projects.
Excellent listening, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working on multi-cloud based environment, including working with digital transformation teams, UX/CX designers, and assistant technology enabled (Accessibility Compliant) technologies.
Familiarity with deployment in public and private government approved cloud and associated security considerations.
TOGAF certified or equivalent IT architectural qualification.
Azure or AWS cloud architectural certifications.
Experience in UML.
Expectations
Hybrid role: 2 days in the office (Directorate day and one day of your choosing).
Entry Level checks will be required for all successful candidates.
Must be an Australian Citizen and either hold or be willing to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
