We are seeking a dynamic Senior Contract Management Officer to join our team and play a pivotal role in delivering key outcomes for the Department. In this crucial position, you’ll report to the Contract Manager and Director of ICT, overseeing high-risk contracts that drive our ICT projects. You will ensure all contractual commitments are met, developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies in consultation with various business units. From the preparation and negotiation of service agreements to monitoring performance and resolving disputes, your expertise will ensure the smooth delivery of critical services. You will also work closely with ICT teams, Water Management Solutions program members, and other DEW staff, particularly within the Finance branch, to support the department’s objectives.What you will be doing:Autonomously manage the contract life-cycle to meet agency and stakeholder objectives.Prepare, negotiate, and monitor service agreements, addressing risk, compliance, and performance issues.Resolve contractual disputes efficiently, collaborating with legal counsel and external experts where necessary.Continuously improve the contract management framework, aligning it with legislation and agency policies.Evaluate performance, conducting thorough data analysis and reporting.Maintain business systems to ensure audit and compliance requirements are met.Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Prepare high-level written documentation, including contracts, briefings, and reports for senior leadership.What you will bring:Demonstrated sound understanding of the legal principles underpinning contract law and the development of contract management strategies and policies.Procurement Services SA training including Introduction to Contract Management, Principles of Contract Management and Advanced Contract Management accreditation (required).
