Our 99,600 employees operate a network of 2,600 offices and laboratories around the world.SGS Environmental Division is looking for an experienced Water Quality Operations Manager to manage the laboratory daily operations, field sampling, and laboratory testing services.Job DescriptionBased in Notting Hill - VICPermanent Full-Time roleAs the Water Laboratory Operations Manager, you will be directly responsible for ensuring SGS Notting Hill Laboratory operation meets the contractual obligations to its clients for their field sampling and laboratory testing services.Responsibilities include:Work closely with our clients to scope out sampling schedule and laboratory testing requirements.Acting as a key client contact for SGS on a regular basis throughout the course of the contracts.Lead and develop the field and microbiological teams to ensure they have all required inductions, training, job details, and equipment to perform their job duties safely and efficiently.Develop and manage routine field sampling schedules per contract requirements.Respond and act on any client non-routine or emergency sampling and testing requests.Submit regular health/safety and lab performance KPI reports to our clients.Monitor and report on client satisfaction issues.Work together with the sample reception team to ensure samples are registered into SGS LIMS accurately.Communicate with clients on any TAT delays, technical, and compliance issues.Carry out technical and improvement projects as required.Develop close working relationships with suppliers of micro consumables and field equipment to ensure costs are managed and to stay informed of developments in these areas.QualificationsTo be considered for this role your skills and attributes should include:Commercial laboratory operation and management experiencePreferred experience in water testingTertiary qualification in Science, preferably in MicrobiologyCustomer service or similar stakeholder management is a plusGood time management skills and ability to multitask.Additional InformationWHY WORK FOR SGS?Working at SGS means joining an innovative, Global company.
