Introduction: About the Company This Position helps to ensure the development, implementation, and maintenance of Pacific Fresh's Quality Management System (QMS). Ensuring that the organization's QMS conforms to customer, internal and external standards as well as all regulatory and legal requirements. Reporting to the Quality Manager and other key staff the position holder needs to know all tasks and roles within the QA team. As a Quality Assurance Assistant at Pacific Fresh, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety for our products. This permanent part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our company. This position has the opportunity for advancement into a more senior role. Description: Your responsibilities will include: Support the QA Manager during external audits. Internal auditing of processes & procedures Co-ordinate external laboratory testing where applicable. Reporting food safety and quality issues to QA Manager and other key staff with authority to initiate action. Comply & implement Pacific Fresh's Food Safety Policies. Become a member of the crisis review & recall teams. Perform mock recalls when initiated by QA Manager. Assist in providing induction training to new and existing staff. Conduct product assessment including receival, inline production and finished product prior to dispatch. Monitor areas of responsibility for cleaning, sanitation pre-requisite programs to avoid product contamination. To go out into the field to perform Registered Crop Monitoring. Updating farm maps and all associated paperwork. Participate in all work-group meetings as requested by the QA manager or management. Liaise with production staff/management to resolve any problems. Key Requirements HACCP certificate preferrable or must be willing to obtain. Organizational & strong communication skills Ability to multi-task & deal with multiple priorities to meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills for effective liaison with other stake holders. Knowledge of the Citrus Industry would be advantageous. Good computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office. Good verbal & written literacy & numeracy. Internal Audit Certificate desirable or must be willing to obtain. Deal with employees, management, and other stakeholders professionally at all times. Abide with all WH&S policies. PPE must be worn at all times, in designated areas. Physically fit and able to stand, move and lift objects easily (Max 15Kg). Possess problem solving skills. Training/Certificates must be kept up to date to enhance knowledge and skills in all areas of Quality Assurance.
