Senior Service Technicians are responsible for mechanical repairs and maintenance of the SA Ambulance Service (SAAS) fleet of ambulances, emergency response vehicles and vehicle related specialised medical equipment.This role is on a 4on/4off roster with associated penalties paid.What We Offer: Work in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment with a culture of inclusion and diversity.Giving back to the people of South Australia!

Key Responsibilities:Vehicle Repairs and Maintenance:- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on Emergency Response Vehicles, including fuel injection systems, brake systems, drive lines, engines, air conditioning systems, basic crash repairs, and fitting of accessory equipment.- Ensure preventive maintenance and repairs on Emergency Response Vehicles, sphygmomanometers, oxygen fittings, and associated equipment are effectively and efficiently performed according to industry and SAAS standards.Fleet Management and Support:- Communicate with the EOC State Duty Manager and Team Leader regarding Emergency Response Vehicle issues, including emergency breakdowns, minor repairs, vehicle changeovers, delivery of emergency medical equipment, and repairs to stretchers.- Contribute to the commissioning and decommissioning of fleet vehicles.- Undertake routine and non-routine fleet movements as directed.Quality Assurance and Reporting:- Implement assurance processes to ensure outgoing fleets meet the required SAAS standards for medical and associated equipment, fleet details, and standards of livery.- Record all work carried out on the Fleet Management System via computerized job cards.Vehicle Maintenance and Reporting:- Undertake routine vehicle servicing and maintenance.- Ensure quality check sheets show 100% adherence to standards for maintenance and scheduled repairs.- Detect and address potential problems during scheduled servicing.- Address vehicle faults reported by Ambulance crews.Medical Equipment Maintenance:- Carry out stretcher servicing as indicated by service tags.- Service and repair stretchers to an accredited level.- Check and address potential problems with stretchers and other medical equipment during servicing.Teamwork and Customer Service:- Receive work requests and queries in a courteous, prompt, and efficient manner.- Provide exceptional customer service to all staff and Ambulance crews.- Assist in guiding and training apprentices.- Work as part of a team with a rotating roster and carry out vehicle movements and stretcher servicing in a supporting role.
