Job Description PaperCut is seeking a Lab Manager to keep our hardware testing lab running at full capacity. Do you like to play with a bit of everything - hardware, networking, cloud, IoT, testing, scripting, (and more)? Can you maintain a fleet of hardware devices and the networks they run in? If so, this is the role for you Reporting to the Quality Manager, you'll be an important part of our quality team, which is hyper-focused on ensuring PaperCut's software is of the highest quality before being released. As part of this team, you'll ensure that the hardware our products interface with is running as it should in our testing lab and that our software engineers have everything they need to perform testing on this hardware. Our code saves trees. After 20 years of building paper-saving print management software, we still have our first employees, first resellers, and first customers. Our success is not measured by profits and business metrics, but instead by our impact on our 139 million users and planet. We're values-driven and fuelled by coffee. Some of the things you'd do Maintain and expand our test lab of multifunction print devices, card readers, and other hardware, ordering required consumables, parts, and book required repair when needed. Advance, update and test our network infrastructure and firmware to provide greater security and flexibility for our development and product testing needs and ISO compliance. Maintain and update our Device Usage Tracker system to ensure all reservation data is up to date for developers and testers. A little about you… While a Bachelor’s degree is preferred, it’s not a dealbreaker – what matters most is your passion for problem-solving and your ability to learn quickly. Experience in a similar role is desirable, especially if you've worked with hardware, testing labs, or network management before. What success looks like 6 months in Not everything is 100% up to date, but our lab devices have received enough intervention to ensure that product testing is a relatively seamless process for our engineers. You've identified a number of medium-long-term projects that will allow us to advance our test lab hardware, firmware, networks and booking system to make testing a more enjoyable process for PaperCut. Any issues in our test lab infrastructure are identified and resolved in a timely way and there have been no significant delays to release and delivery of our products.
