The key duties of the position include Reporting to the General Manager Enabling Services, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead and deliver key financial outcomes and priorities for the NACC.
The role operates as a trusted business partner in a sensitive, complex, and developing work environment.
The CFO will be responsible for providing advice to the agency on a range of strategic initiatives, investments and business needs as well as legislative and regulatory compliance.
The CFO's responsibilities are part of the core enabling functions of the NACC and will need strong leadership skills and an ability to engender trust and respect, which are complemented by a commitment to integrity and probity, sound judgement and a strong focus on results.
The successful candidate will work under the general direction of the General Manager Enabling Services branch.
Key activities of this position include: Lead and manage a small and diverse team to deliver NACC's financial and budget management objectives through building capability within the team and across the NACC.Build sustainable and productive professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders through clear communication to influence outcomes.Be responsible for NACC travel, travel policy and lead the implementation of the new travel and expense management system.Lead financial management, procurement, accounting operations and reporting to meet the Commission's obligations under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act).Prepare financial information including Portfolio Budget Statements as well as monthly and annual financial statements to meet the NACC's statutory reporting obligations.Provide clear and informative strategic financial analysis and advice to NACC Executive and key governance committees to enable effective decision making.Play an active stewardship role by contributing to the success of your peers, accepting and demonstrating collective responsibility for the success of the NACC, engaging constructively to support corporate initiatives and policies, and balancing local and broader NACC priorities to seek the best outcomes.Work collaboratively across the branch to lead and manage activities resulting from any structural changes implemented to meet the needs of the NACC.Represent the NACC at portfolio and/or whole of government enabling services fora.The NACC is a small agency.
In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities.
