About the opportunity
Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Health is seeking a Lecturer in Counselling. In consultation with the Chair of Discipline, you will contribute to curriculum development in reference to accreditation standards, strengthening partnerships to improve teaching, learning, and research outcomes for the University. Your core responsibilities will include:
* Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students in the Counselling discipline.
* Contribute to innovative curriculum development and flexible learning options (face-to-face, blended, and online)
* Develop a research profile aligned with faculty priorities and publish in quality journals
* Build strategic partnerships with the healthcare industry to enhance student placement opportunities
About you
You will be passionate about student teaching and supporting student learning and have a keen interest in health research. More specifically, you will have:
* Hold a nationally recognised qualification in counselling, and PhD or master's qualification in the relevant discipline
* Eligible for full registration with Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation Australia (PACFA)
* Have at least five years of clinical experience and prior teaching experience in Higher Education Counselling
* Experience with using contemporary educational technologies and delivering blended and online learning
* Experienced in curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation for effective student learning
* Demonstrate strong research capabilities with a record of grants and publications
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering positive relationships with students, staff, and industry
Salary and benefits

* Part-time (60%), continuing (permanent)
* Located at Lismore, NSW 2480. Generous relocation support available.
* Academic Level B. The base salary ranges from $110,611 - $130,814 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $153,052.
