Mersey Community Hospital is a dedicated elective surgery centre and provides a mixture of general hospital services. The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania thus providing opportunities for comprehensive clinical training programs.Specialties provided include Dental Surgery, Gynaecology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, and Endoscopy.Experience is not mandatory but highly desirable.The Role:As a member of the health care team, the CSD Technician:Decontaminates, packages, sterilises and distributes reusable medical devices (RMDs) for the Operating Theatre and other specialist and general areas.Maintains a clean and hygienic environment to facilitate the control of infection in the Central Sterilising Department (CSD).The Team:Be part of a dynamic, fast paced, and supportive team.Support can be provided for the study for completion of Certificate III in Sterilising Services for the successful applicant.Provide an efficient sterilisation and decontamination services to the Mersey Community Hospital (MCH).Details of appointment:Permanent, part-time position working 40 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.*Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies across the North West.Salary: $67,193 - $70,993 pro rata, per annum.
