The University of Adelaide (Adelaide University from Jan 1, 2026) School of Psychology offers three Masters Programs – Clinical, Health and Organisational. An opportunity to contribute to placements as a supervisor has become available, working at Ronald McDonald House in North Adelaide. The successful applicant will supervise Master of Psychology (Clinical, Health or Organisational) students on placement, as the field supervisor (working in collaboration with a university supervisor for the student).
The successful applicant will provide clinical oversight, assessment, and support, including running individual and group-supervision sessions, for students undertaking a placement as part of the Master of Psychology (Clinical, Health and Organisational) programs at the University of Adelaide. This role involves working within the team at Ronald McDonald House, and with university staff responsible for Masters training, to develop and deliver the highest quality placement experience to best prepare the next generation of psychologists.
While the successful candidate will not have their own client load, we seek an experienced clinician with demonstrated skills providing flexible and tailored psychological therapy for a broad range of client presentations, with a focus on children living with serious illness and/or injury, and their family and wider supports. There will be opportunities to work in the area of perinatal mental health. The role also includes working with the team on training and development for staff.
Whilst the position is located at Ronald McDonald House, the employer is the School of Psychology, University of Adelaide/Adelaide University. As a 0.5 role, days and hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant, alongside staff from Ronald McDonald House and the School of Psychology.
To be successful you will need:
* Registration as a Psychologist in Australia, with Endorsement in Clinical or Educational and Developmental or Health Psychology, or the ability and willingness to gain Endorsement.
* Board Approved Supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia and demonstrated experience in supervision of students on placement.
* Demonstrated experience working with children and their families, and ideally, with children living with serious illness and/or injury.
* Demonstrated ability in working with people from a range of different cultural backgrounds.
* Demonstrated clinical skills providing flexible psychological therapy to a range of client presentations.
* Demonstrated ability to supervise the research of undergraduate, honours or postgraduate students, relative to opportunity.
