Leading the change toward a sustainable and equitable future
Our environmental practice helps industries and governments fulfill their responsibilities to the people they support, as well as the planet that supports us all. We provide advisory and technical services to enable you to achieve compliance, manage impacts, and reduce or even eliminate risks.
Our services help clients anticipate and manage the environmental impact at each stage of the project: planning and obtaining permits for new facilities; decommissioning, clean-up, and closure of contaminated sites and surplus operations facilities; restoration for reuse; addressing critical climate change issues; protection or restoration of habitats and water quality; and the preservation of cultural resources.
We’re one global team – 50,000 strong – driven by a common purpose to deliver a better world.
What will a day in this role look like:
1. Conduct field-based ecology surveys, including vegetation mapping, monitoring, and threatened species assessments using methods like DEECA Habitat Hectares.
2. Lead and manage ecological projects, mentor junior team members, and deliver ecological input for multi-disciplinary projects.
3. Perform ecological impact assessments, offset planning, and develop mitigation strategies for diverse projects.
4. Manage technical and financial aspects of ecological and Environmental Impact Assessment projects.
What are we looking for from you?
1. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field, with working knowledge of Victorian and Commonwealth environmental legislation (e.g., EPBC Act, FFG Act, Planning and Environment Act).
2. Proficiency in vegetation surveys across various Victorian environments, habitat assessments (VQA accreditation desirable), and GIS tools such as ESRI FieldMaps.
3. Strong experience in habitat and protected species surveys, efficient data recording, and a valid Victorian driver’s license, with the ability to work outdoors on extended field programs.
4. Previous professional consultancy experience in ecology or equivalent NGO/academic background.
