DescriptionThe Role:It's an exciting time to be joining Navantia Australia, one of Australia's leading companies in the Maritime Sustainment industry.Navantia Australia currently has an exciting opportunity for a 12 month fixed term contract role for a Maintenance Planning Manager to join the team out of its Garden Island, Sydney office. The Maintenance Planning Manager (MPM) will lead the sustainment maintenance planning activities to ensure that the AOR Ships are maintained throughout the life of type in accordance with the Maintenance Plans and the Usage and Upkeep Plan.To be successful in the role, you will have a can-do attitude and be proactive in your approach. In return, you will be part of a successful team that promotes a fun and collaborative team environment.In this role, you will:Lead the maintenance planning team to deliver the maintenance packages relating to the AOR Ships and Training Centre, working within the AOR Asset Management, Seaworthiness frameworks and the AOR Maintenance Management Plan (MMP).Ensure the correct maintenance schedules, technical recording and reporting processes have been followed in accordance with the approved MMP.Be responsible for ensuring the correct maintenance documentation and technical data is utilised for the products being supported IAWCMT-U and AMPS.Ensure the Annual Work Plan (AWP), Annual Work Schedule (AWS) and Five Year Work Program (FYWP) are prepared and delivered in accordance with the AOR Master Schedule.Co-ordinate, prepare and participate in the delivery of the Annual Planning Conference and the Minutes ensuring project milestones are achieved.Utilise the Defence tools (CMT-U & AMPS) to forecast maintenance tasks, maintain maintenance history, report, record modification status, receipt of TM200s, URDEFS, loading of OQE and close out tasks.Ensure deferred maintenance and maintenance identified in closing reports is captured and included in the next maintenance period.Work closely with the Supply Chain to ensure work packages are available for tendering in accordance with the Stage Gate process.Ensure work activities not captured in AMPS are identified and included in the maintenance plan (mainly survey and certification requirements).Ensure the Task Change process is correctly utilised to capture all changes to the AWP.Ensure the data required by the Asset Management team to monitor the performance and costs relating to assets is correctly captured and reporting is provided when required.Support the Maintenance Manager in providing accurate reporting for the CSSR and CSR reports.Support and lead the planning team including managing leave, performance and daily activities.Perform quality checks to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of the maintenance planning systems.Support in a continuous improvement program of the Maintenance Management Plan for AOR.As the ideal candidate, you will have:Tertiary qualified level practitioner (preferable in a maintenance related field).Experience as a leader in maintenance planning and management.Minimum 8 years maintenance planning and supervisory experience.Experience working in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) including working with project management teams undertaking the execution and delivery of maintenance tasks.Very strong teamwork ethics.Very strong interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision-making skills.Demonstrated experience with maintenance management software.Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and with external stakeholders.Australian Citizenship holding or eligible for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance.What it's like to work with Navantia Australia:Navantia Australia plays a key part in the Australian government's Naval Shipbuilding Plan.
