Position Description and Responsibilities
1. Take responsibility for the business performance of the restaurant.
2. Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
3. Weight, measure, mix, and cook with ingredients according to recipes, personal judgement, and experience.
4. Assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods.
5. Coordinate and supervise the work of kitchen staff.
6. Analyse and plan restaurant sales levels and profitability.
7. Contribute to marketing and business development.
8. Take responsibility for the day-to-day operations and running of the kitchen.
9. Plan rosters and manage shift patterns.
10. Manage and monitor supervisors to ensure that high standards of food and customer service are provided at all times.
11. Manage the training and motivation of employees.
12. Manage quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
13. Ensure the requirements of the Employee Manual are adhered to and upheld.
14. Respond to and resolve customer complaints.
15. Enter data and check invoices as required.
16. Take responsibility for back of house purchasing to maintain stock levels.
Mandatory Skills or Qualifications
* Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Intermediate computer skills
