Mechanical Fitter George Fisher Mine – Fixed Plant Maintenance and Ops Ref. No. 42477 The Role We have opportunities that exist for experienced Mechanical Fitters to join the Maintenance team at George Fisher Mine. Reporting to the Asset Mechanical supervisor, you will have the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, working in a dynamic and challenging environment. You will ensure to safely and effectively perform planned and breakdown maintenance tasks by working within a team and promoting site safety standards and ensuring the highest standards of work are conducted and maintained. This position is a residential role in Mount Isa and requires you to work a 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 2 days off roster, allowing for an excellent work-life balance. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Safe and efficient repairs and maintenance of fixed plant Surface assets Undertaking preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on Fixed Plant equipment High and safe quality of work conducted and maintained Identify potential improvements to work practices and conditions Provide feedback on a regular basis Supporting improvement projects that aim to reduce unplanned stoppages Work positively in a team environment whilst providing support when called upon Maintaining and improving OH&S and overall operational standards in the workplace The successful candidate will possess: Experience within mining/heavy industry environment will be highly regarded with a high regard for safety innovation and adhering to safety procedures. Ability to think logically and solve problems when required Flexible in terms of rosters and possible changes to roster when required as per business needs Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail. Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment. Good communication skills with peers, customers, and management. Willingness and ability to learn new processes. Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence. Experience in SAP and Microsoft Office would be an advantage or similar system.
