The Role
Lead the development of operational interoperability objectives to shape strategic policy and OAI planning by HQJOC and components, achieving theatre campaign effects.
* Support maintenance and evaluation of operational interoperability.
* Develop, evaluate, and report on Joint Interoperability required for operational readiness and Theatre Campaign Effects.
* Ensure operational interoperability objectives align with Defence International Engagement Policy, including emerging Initiatives, Departmental capability, and interoperability frameworks.
* Work with initiative owners to assess interoperability opportunities.
* Provide operational interoperability guidance to support planning.
* Incorporate Interoperability requirements within the Theatre Campaign Plan, especially country plans.
* Act as Branch lead for VCDF liaison, focusing on Interoperability and feedback to the Branch on interoperability impacts.
* Maintain environmental awareness of changes in interoperability and capability planning.

HQJOC J58 – International Engagement and International Exercises: Core functions include:
* Strategic planning of HQJOC operational international engagement and key leadership engagement.
* Bilateral international exercise concept development and design.
* Leadership of bilateral international exercise and operations working groups.
* Secretariat function for key military-to-military committees and international dialogue.
* Leadership and coordination of HQJOC input to International Policy Papers.
