Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Financial Planning and Analysis team.
* Drive commercial thinking and rigour in collaboration with the Commercial Manager and CFO.
* Lead and apply best-practice coaching techniques to maximise the potential of the team, both in capacity and capability.
* Drive/promote mindset change across the section, creating and maintaining a culture of high performance.
Commercial Capability & Strategic Advice
* Improve commercial capability across the team.
* Provide trusted value to stakeholders by bringing financial insights, analysis, and strategic thinking.
* Drive a Total Expenditure view of Investment spend to fully understand the impact on the Enterprise of the decision.
* Uplift the business to improve financial acumen and drive a financially sustainable mindset.
* Identify and manage risks and benefits associated with implementing business strategies and plans, including understanding the financial implications.
* Lead and prepare the financial modelling for the enterprise Financial Plan and scenario analysis.
* Proactively lead on complex problems and develop understanding and insights to support the business, i.e. develop financial modelling and analysis if required.
Stakeholder Management
* Establish and maintain strong and enduring relationships across the senior leadership team seeking to identify collective needs/requirements and working together to achieve Enterprise strategic outcomes.
* Proactively collaborate across the business to support and influence commercial decisions with consideration of strategic, fiscal, and compliance impacts.
Reporting and Governance
* Experience leading on the Corporate Plan and Reporting.
* Responsible for the team and delivery of the Regulatory reporting for the group.
* Deliver continuous improvement of Enterprise reporting to generate insights and action towards Enterprise strategy and targets.
* Develop improved reporting through self-service options (i.e., Power BI dashboards).
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
* CA/CPA Qualified.
* Strong financial management experience within a complex corporate environment or commercial aspects of running a government business enterprise or private sector utility with understanding of the regulatory and authorising environment.
* Experience leading the Corporate plan and managing organisational change.
* Strong influencing and leadership skills to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
* Track record in previously leading a Finance team.
* High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
What's on Offer
The Finance Team Leader & Planning role will pay in the range of $130,000-$140,000 base + super. The offices are located in the Western suburbs and provide flexible working.
