Position Description
Position title: Primary Teacher
Agreement: Portside Christian College Enterprise Agreement (2021)
Award: Educational Services (Teachers) Award 2020 (MA000077)
Tenure: This is a Maternity replacement contract initially for 1 Semester commencing in January 2025
FTE: 1.0 FTE
Reports to: College Principal through the Deputy Principal – Primary and delegates
Direct reports: Nil
Qualifications of the successful candidate
South Australian Teacher Registration, or be eligible to obtain registration
First Aid certificate to HTLAID011 is desirable
Skills and attributes of the successful candidate include:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a Teaching and Learning Team
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationship with students, staff and parents
Demonstrated effective pedagogical practice in a Primary setting
Demonstrated ability to create and engage in a respectful and collaborative classroom culture
Proficiency in Digital Technology
Ability to manage the demands of the position including administration and professional responsibilities
Ability to actively contribute to the Christian life of the College community
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated teaching practice that develops assessment capable learners
Demonstrated pedagogical approaches that engage learners using differentiated approaches
Ability to use data to inform teaching for improved student learning
Effective classroom management and communication skills that foster restorative approaches
Understanding of and ability to teach from a Christian worldview
Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with parents, students and staff
