We currently have an opportunity for a motivated and talented Controls Engineer to join our Engineering Group. This position plays a leading role in the deployment of electrical control systems. This includes design, documentation, testing and commissioning of materials handling automation hardware and PLC software. The position also provides substantial opportunities to travel across a number of our customer locations in order to fulfil the work requirements.

Tasks and Qualifications:
Key responsibilities of the position include:
8. Development of functional specifications
9. Conformance to OHS&E standards in the design and execution of all work
10. Preparation of electrical schematic drawings, PLC programs and configuration of operator interfaces
11. Configuration of SCADA
12. Preparation of manufacturing and installation specifications
13. Planning and supervision of major controls installations
14. Managing the procurement of parts, the manufacture of cabinets and the electrical installation
15. Controls project cost control
16. Testing and commissioning on customer sites
17. Preparation of test plans and operator & technical manuals
18. Handing over projects to our Customer Service team
What We Are Looking For
Key skills, qualifications and attributes include:
19. Degree qualified in an Engineering or scientific discipline
20. Ideal role for those with experience in electrical design and installation
21. Sound knowledge of requirements of AS3000 & AS4024.1
22. Experience in machine control, safety and functional safety principles
23. Experience in SCADA's like ICONICS, CITEC and WINCC
24. Knowledge of materials handling system controls
25. Experience in writing of technical documentation
26. Knowledge of configuration, programming and commissioning of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), variable speed drives, barcode scanners and safety devices
27. Willingness to travel during the installation and commissioning phase of a project within Australia and occasionally overseas for extensive periods
28. Ability to work in project based environment as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team
