Provide comprehensive advice and expertise in shaping effective service delivery to Units and operational response across the Western Region

* Location of this role is negotiable within the Western Region office locations with preference for either Geelong, Ballarat or Bendigo
ROLE SUMMARY:
Reporting to & working with the Chief Officer Operations, the Deputy Chief Officer Regional Service Delivery (DOCRSD) is primarily responsible for leading integrated teams across the Western Region, engaging with Volunteer Unit leaders and volunteer members. The DCORSD is accountable for regional service delivery including direct Volunteer Support and capability building, along with implementation of VICSES strategies and programs, operational performance, and financial, quality and risk management of the Region. Building long term relationships with peers across all emergency management organisations to positively manage any public concern that may arise, will be critical for the role. A seasoned leader with experience in managing business operations, with a strong focus on engagement and customer service, with complex community facing sectors together with your ability to engage, influence and advocate will be second to none. Bringing success across the areas of business & political acumen, stakeholder engagement, project management and continuous improvement, you will have strong leadership skills across multi-disciplinary teams. The ability to develop and influence key internal and external stakeholder relationships will be critical. Understanding and leading volunteers with an understanding of emergency management is highly desirable. Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.
As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
