The Role
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic full-time legal secretary to join our Melbourne Secretarial Team. The role involves working across the firm nationally as relief in all our commercial practice areas, working on a variety of tasks including:
1. liaising with clients and staff
2. diary management and travel booking
3. preparation of legal documents
4. preparation of correspondence (emails, memos and letters)
5. monthly billing
6. managing all electronic documentation
This role includes Relief Reception and support for other Corporate Services functions as required.
Requirements of the role
The successful candidate for this role will have:
7. strong verbal and written communication skills
8. intermediate to advanced computer skills across the Microsoft suite, in particular Word and Powerpoint and a working knowledge of Excel
9. experience using document management and billing/time recording systems (such as FileSite, Expert or similar)
10. the ability to manage the workflow of multiple fee earners
11. flexibility and be adaptable, proactive and be able to work unsupervised
12. a positive attitude and team player approach, no matter what the task
13. strong organizational and file management skills and initiative
