The role of the Sales Engineer is to develop and formulate commercially focused and technically feasible solutions in the field of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) to improve market penetration and realize growth aspirations of Mondo. In this role, you would be expected to specialise in solar designs, renewable energy connection applications, Energy Modelling, Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) and Battery Solutions.
You would need to research and analyse markets, technologies, and trends to find viable and innovative renewable energy solutions. The Sales Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise to support the sales process.
With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Business Development, Distributed Energy, DFN team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
4. Formulate commercially viable technical solutions for VPPs and embedded generation (solar and battery microgrids) tailored to customer requirements.
5. Develop technical design and scope of work for Solar PV systems inclusive of BESS, for tenders and proposals for Commercial & Industrial applications.
6. Prepare and lodge distributor connection applications.
7. Load modelling and sizing of solar PPA and battery systems using Software such as Helioscope, Homer Grid, PVSyst.
8. Review and approve of installer issued technical design, drawings and documentation.
9. Provide engineering input and work with bid management and business development team to submit formal tenders and customer offers.
10. Collaborate with customers to understand their energy needs and challenges.
11. Generate effective, commercially viable and compliant technical and commercial solutions that can be converted to successful deals.
12. Provide technical support to enable growth of sales of VPP, microgrid, and battery solutions.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
13. Minimum 5 years’ experience working in sales, pre-sales and/or solutions engineering in the renewable energy sector
14. Demonstrated understanding of customer requirements, product capability and ability to meet technical and business needs of customers and stakeholders
15. Specialist knowledge of solar and battery designs, renewable energy connection applications including distributors’ connection processes, Virtual Power Plans (VPPs), energy modelling, Australian Energy Markets and related technologies
16. Experience load-modelling and sizing of solar PPA and battery systems using Software such as Helioscope, Homer Grid, PVSyst
17. Experience modelling battery revenues from wholesale arbitrage and FCAS services preferred
