A values-based leadership ethos keeps the organisation tightly focused.JOB PURPOSEThe role of Junior Writer reports to the GM Media and Community Engagement and will assist in creating and managing content for AgForce Queensland's various communication channels. This role supports the Media and Community Engagement Team by developing narratives aligned with AgForce's strategic goals to advance sustainable agribusiness and advocate for Queensland farmers.2. OBJECTIVES Primary responsibilities include:Assist in writing and editing content for media releases, publications (such as Envoy and Action), and social media platforms.Collaborate with the Media & Community Engagement and Policy teams to ensure all content supports AgForce's strategic objectives.Provide content support for the commodity boards, regional councils, and other AgForce staff as needed.Build and maintain relationships with AgForce staff, elected members, and external stakeholders, including media personnel.Other responsibilities as delegated or directed by the General Manager – Media and Community Engagement.3. KPIs Content Development: Timely and high-quality development of content for media releases, social media, and publications.Collaboration: Work effectively with AgForce team members and stakeholders to support communication initiatives.Strategic Alignment: Ensure that all produced content aligns with AgForce's strategic plan and vision.Every AgForce employee is required to behave in an appropriate professional manner, uphold organisational values and adhere to our policies and code of conduct while representing the organisation.4. SELECTION CRITERIA Education/Qualifications: Relevant degree qualificationSkills, Ability and Knowledge: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to connect with diverse audiences.Previous experience in writing or communications roleAbility to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Affinity with rural producers and rural communitiesPersonal Qualities: Capacity to work independently and as part of a team, displaying initiative and self-motivation.Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrityAbility to manage time effectively and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.Excellent attention to detailExcellent interpersonal skillsCollaborative approach5. KEY RELATIONSHIPS Maintain strong relationships with the General Manager – Media and Community Engagement, CEO, COO, General President, Media and Communications team, policy team, elected member representatives and Regional Managers. Externally, to maintain productive relationships with a range of stakeholders such as media, rural industries and businesses, government agencies, peak industry bodies and others.6.
