The Role: As an OT Security Specialist with Energy Queensland,your purpose is to manage Operational Technology security platforms whilst applying your specialist knowledge in cybersecurity systems to ensure the day to day and tactical functions of the team are maintained.
Specifically, you will be managing and maintaining the security of the operational technology within the network to identify and mitigate the risk of potential vulnerabilities and threats.
Your day as an OT Security Specialist could look like this: you spend the morning working on a new project to expand cyber security capabilities in the Operational Technology Environment.
After lunch, you take on some of the business as usual tasks: Adding policies to the network firewalls Investigating alerts raised by the SIEM platform Configuring F5 virtual servers for new OT systems Planning and managing updates to platforms Assigning new hosts to proper domains Performing security risk assessment of a new OT device Working across teams to deliver secure solutions The hands on nature of the role includes an on call component to support the 24/7 nature of our network.
This is a rotating roster, where you will be required to support if a threat is detected.
You will be compensated for your time.
You will be helping to implement and develop processes and procedures within a technical environment to ensure the ongoing safety of the network.
Working within a wider team, you will be operating within various standards such as IEC 62443, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and AESCSF regulations.

About You: In addition to your Bachelor Degree in IT/Cybersecurity or associated disciplines, you will also have a strong understanding of the governance, risk, and compliance this team operates within.
It is a key requirement of the role to have familiarity with IEC 62443, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and AESCSF regulations.
The role involves delving deeper into complex and technical information surrounding cybersecurity, so experience within OT cybersecurity is required.
You will also be a good communicator who can produce documentation and develop necessary procedures.
