Rouse Hill High School opened in 2009. Numbers for 2023 are approximately 1,250 students and 81 teaching staff. The 2021-2024 Strategic Improvement Plan focuses on growth and attainment targets for all students with an emphasis on literacy, numeracy, and wellbeing. Quality teaching practices are enhanced through collaborative professional learning communities. Senior students undertake a Compacted Curriculum model for Higher School Certificate delivery completing three discrete Higher School Certificate subjects in each of their senior years. The school currently has one autism class. Whole school extracurricular programs and strategic direction responsibilities are shared amongst all staff. The school is part of a learning community with partner primary schools and has an active Parents and Citizens’ Association.
Specific Selection Criteria
1.Approval to teach secondary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
2.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to create innovative teaching and learning experiences whilst promoting critical and creative thinking, digital literacy and autonomous learning.
3.Demonstrated innovation in managing and implementing a stimulating library learning environment, encompassing the physical space and digital resources of the library.
4.Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build and maintain positive and effective relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
