The Role
Girrawheen SHS is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dedicated English teacher.
The successful applicant should possess a sound understanding of the English Curriculum and Senior School English courses. Applicants will ideally have the necessary knowledge, skills, and understanding to prepare students for NAPLAN and OLNA. We are seeking an applicant who has proven abilities in learning program planning and instructional practice to facilitate improved student outcomes. The ability to successfully teach ATAR English is highly desirable.
The successful applicant should be able to provide engaging, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences. The learning environment you create should be differentiated, challenging, caring and creative, while catering for a range of needs that sees all students progressing and achieving. Additionally, the successful applicant should be able to utilise evidence-based teaching practices whilst employing a range of assessment and reporting methods.
You will ideally support the implementation of the school business plan, work and teach in a team environment, and be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives. The successful applicant must be able to build and maintain a positive learning environment therefore effective classroom management is critical to this role. All teachers appointed to Girrawheen SHS apply the principles of the school’s explicit model of instruction in their work.
