We are looking for a Staff Specialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Maternal Fetal Medicine, and to participate in teaching, research, education, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Women’s Babies Department and Hospital as required. The Staff Specialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine will have extensive experience in maternal medicine, exposure to fetal interventions as part of the RPAH integrated department of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM). RPAH is uniquely positioned to serve as a centre of excellence in the management of critically ill pregnant women, fetal diagnostic services and is a referral centre for Fetal interventions. The Department is an established centre for providing services to high-risk obstetrics cases to a diverse range of complex medical conditions, encompassing cardiac issues, chronic renal diseases, transplant recipients, individuals with cystic fibrosis, and more in addition to fetal diagnostic, teaching and consultative specialty services in the integrated department of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM). The Staff Specialist will participate and play an integral role in the continued advancement of RPA's High-Risk Obstetrics and Maternal Medicine and fetal intervention services, contributing to the development of evidence-based guidelines for managing complex medical conditions in obstetrics, enhancing collaboration with obstetric physicians to provide comprehensive care, assisting and counselling of other ultrasounds performed by sonographers at RPAH, Charles Perkins Centre and The Canterbury Hospital. They will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research, and professional development. The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) with recognised qualifications in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) or currently in the final year of the MFM training program.
