The Project
The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has been successful in securing the contract to deliver the $3.1bn M6 Stage 1 project. The project will deliver the missing link from Sydney’s south to the wider Sydney motorway network making journeys easier, faster and safer. It will remove more than 2,000 trucks a day from surface roads and help return local streets to local communities.
With works commenced in early 2022, the M6 Stage 1 project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.
The Opportunity
The M6 Stage 1 Tunnelling team are seeking applications from experienced Tunnelling Site Engineers to join the team. Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer you will be responsible for coordinating on-site engineering functions and provide efficient support construction activities.
About You
1. Contributing to the procurement of subcontractors for the project works – writing scopes, liaising with subcontractor and supplier representatives, reviewing tender submissions, and assisting with preparing recommendations
2. Assisting with design reviews, with particular focus on constructability and practical application
3. Providing input to the project program
4. Analysis and review of previous project data to contribute to delivery strategies for M6
5. Contributing to the planning and execution of site establishment works for the tunnel sites
6. Coordinate material delivery, tracking and reporting
7. Undertaking safety review of site works
8. Undertaking quality inspections and review of works including ITC and ITP completion
9. Coordinating regular quality inspections with the client
10. Managing the verification of conformance for works under control
11. Tracking of daily progress, productivity and costs and reporting
The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
