Play a key leadership role as a Manager, Group Portfolio Planning in defining and reinforcing enterprise planning and prioritisation standards, methodologies, and best practices to support sound investment across all AusNet business units.
This role sits within our Group Operations team that is currently guiding AusNet to rapidly mature and provide outstanding strategic level technical and operational capabilities, whilst ensuring cross business coordination and collaboration.
With a hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in Southbank, Melbourne and is part of the Group Portfolio Management Office team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
* Establish and embed best practice capital portfolio planning & prioritisation frameworks that are fit for purpose.
* Create and lead the planning & prioritisation community of practice to foster a culture of best practice standards and continuous learning.
* Partner with LoBs and enablement functions to lead sound planning aligned to AusNet’s key strategic imperatives.
* Enable and drive a consistent value framework for investment prioritisation.
* Drive engagement and compliance of systems and processes to manage investment prioritisation across the portfolio.
* Oversee and report on planning outcomes, deviations, risks & opportunities.
* Contribute to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK).
* Support the delivery and maintenance of ISO 21500 certification and ongoing compliance.
* Lead team to ensure strong, value add outcomes in line with Team deliverables.
* Identify training development opportunities for team enabling capability uplift and succession planning. Provide encouragement, guidance and support to staff seeking career progression, and maintain a safe, positive, diverse and productive working culture.
* Support LoB planning functions to demonstrate alignment between projects, programs and portfolios with documented network and asset strategies.
You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
* Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or another related field.
* Significant experience in capital portfolio planning & prioritisation, investment analysis, or facilitative governance roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
* Proven track record of supporting investment portfolios and capital projects successfully.
* Track record of successful ownership of a value framework across an enterprise.
* Experience managing senior stakeholders up to and including EGM level.
* Familiarity with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends that impact operational efficiency and excellence.
* Skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to influence and drive alignment of program management requirements.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate financial and PMO concepts to all audiences.
