Within the BTG, the Information Technology Operations and Platforms Unit provides the ICT infrastructure necessary to support the AIHW's evolving and expanding business requirements as well as supporting ICT security and project initiatives.AIHW's rich mix of technologies, coupled with the Institutes' dynamic and nationally significant work program, makes for a challenging and exciting work environment.
The Information Technology Operations and Platforms Unit works closely together to exploit their diverse range of talents and skill sets to find new and innovative approaches to meet these challenges.The AIHW currently has several exciting projects and work underway to enhance its ICT environment and capabilities and are seeking an experienced and passionate Database Administrator to join our team.Duties of the roleSupport the installation, configuration, security, user authentication and maintenance of all SQL servers, equipment, and software related to SQL infrastructure as required.Support and maintain corporate database systems and associated software, including monitoring, backup and recovery services.Provide support and back up to other areas such as SharePoint administration.Plan and execute SQL patching and upgrades.Provide automated reporting.Maintain clear and up-to-date system and software documentation, and procedures.Assist with ICT projects, support and upgrade as required.To be eligible to apply for this vacancy, you must:Be an Australian citizen.Undergo any required pre-employment checks, including a police records check.Obtain and maintain a valid Security Clearance if required by the institute.A probationary period of six (6) months will apply to any new engagement to the APS.How to applyPlease submit your application online via the AIHW e-Recruit system.
