Service Technician – Mechanical & Electrical Kooragang
UGL's Manufacturing & Maintenance business is experiencing increased growth within our locomotive and rolling stock division based at our operation in Newcastle NSW.
We are looking for Heavy Maintenance Service Technicians of a Mechanical or Electrical background to join the team.
These roles will be offered on a permanent full-time basis, working either day or afternoon shift over a 9-day fortnight, based at Kooragang.
About the Role Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, the primary purpose is to perform scheduled service work, fault finding, and troubleshooting tasks on locomotives at our Kooragang site in Newcastle.
Initial training will be provided at our Hamilton North location (2-week period).
About You Australian recognised trade certificate and hold a Certificate of Proficiency – Mechanical or Electrical Working experience in a maintenance environment is essential – preferably rolling stock maintenance Strong written and verbal communication skills Reliable & punctual General rail and locomotive experience is desirable but not a necessity Commitment to a safe work environment and practices Work autonomously and in a team environment Focused on quality work & customer service excellence Forklift license is desirable but not a necessity Work cover overhead crane licence desirable but not a necessity Lathe operational experience desirable but not a necessity About Us UGL is well-known and respected for providing end-to-end engineering, construction, and maintenance services within rail and transport, communications and technology systems, oil and gas, power, renewables and resources, water, and defence markets.
