About the role
1. Provide high quality, timely and appropriate levels of security, fire protection and safety services to the Nurse Led Clinic as required to ensure the protection of persons, the protection of property, the prevention of crime, the preservation of the peace and the protection of information.
2. Assist clinical staff in the management of problematic persons, security incidents and events, and fire and emergency incidents which may include liaison with Emergency Services

This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
3. Provide comprehensive security services and assistance to patients, visitors, staff and contractors whilst at the same time protecting the physical assets of Metro North Health.
4. Provide a first response presence to all emergency situations.
5. Provide close personal protection to staff confronting aggressive and volatile situations in the provision of front-line health services.
6. Prioritise tasks and respond to requests for security and/or emergency assistance in accordance with Queensland Health, Health Service, Facility and Unit guidelines, policies, procedures and protocols.
7. Prevention, intervention, investigation and recording of crime within the Health Service as defined by statute law, including but not limited to theft, wilful damage, assault, trespass and public nuisance offences.
8. As required, escort, monitor and restrain patients under the direction and supervision of clinical staff.
9. Provide traffic, smoking and other controls as outlined in the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 and the Tobacco and Other Smoking Products Act 1998, including directing and/or physically escorting disorderly persons off Health Services land.
10. Provide staff escorts as required and when operationally sound to do so.
