The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Drafter experienced in signalling & electrical work to join our engineering team at our head office near Perth Domestic Airport. The incumbent will report to the Principal Engineer-Signalling and will be involved with a range of projects as Arc upgrades its signalling and electrical systems to cater for future growth.
The Role
The primary responsibility of this position is the production of and alterations to designs and plans for signalling and electrical works and equipment, in accordance with Arc’s technical standards and drafting procedures besides managing Arc’s signalling and electrical engineering records.
This will be demonstrated through duties & responsibilities such as:
* Preparation of CAD designs and plans for new or altered works or equipment for the signalling and electrical engineering disciplines.
* Updating of design records for signalling and electrical works to as-built status from commissioned works, site correlation or maintenance delivery record updates.
* Preparation and updating of designated operational CAD drawings such as Station Sketches and Diagrams of Signalling.
* Review of CAD design standards compliance within designs submitted by Arc engineers, external consultants, contractors or third parties.
* Management of signalling and electrical design records, inclusive of version control, storage, issue and receipt of new or altered records.
* Reviewing and updating of signalling and electrical drafting procedures and standards.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* Diploma in Engineering or higher
* Minimum five years’ experience in an electrical CAD drafting environment, preferably with some rail signalling and electrical experience.
* Experience and proficient in the use of AutoCAD/Design software and MS Office Suite of programs
* Working knowledge of relevant rail design drafting standards and practices.
