Aurelia Metals Limited (ASX: AMI) (‘Aurelia’) is an Australian gold and base metals mining and exploration company. We own and operate two underground mines and processing facilities in New South Wales (NSW) and have an enviable portfolio of organic growth prospects in the region.
Our Peak Mine comprises several underground polymetallic (gold, lead, zinc, copper, and silver) and an 800 thousand tonnes per annum (ktpa) processing plant. The Mine is located in the northern Cobar Basin in western NSW, a short distance from the historical town of Cobar.
Federation is now one of Australia’s newest and highest-grade base metals mines. Located 15 kilometres south of the central-west township of Nymagee, the Federation deposit hosts significant zinc, lead, and gold mineralisation.

The Role
As an Mining Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the early stages of this venture, leading efficient, safe, and cost-effective mining operations. This opportunity is not just about engineering, it’s about being part of a foundational team, setting standards, and pioneering innovative practices in a fresh mining environment. Your work with the operations team will be integral to implementing safe systems, devising groundbreaking designs, and contributing to the strategic direction of our mining operations.
Flexible and Convenient Work Schedule:
We understand the importance of balancing professional commitments with personal life. Our 8 days on, 6 days off roster pattern supports this balance, with direct FIFO arrangements from Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
* Spearhead drill and blast design, including stoping, vertical development, and service hole planning for electrical & services reticulation, probing, pumping, and drainage.
* Delivering comprehensive mine plans and schedules monthly, extending through to the Life of Mine
* Serve as the primary liaison for the Technical Services team in the underground mine.
* Provide guidance and support to operations as necessary.
* Collaborate with the Mining Manager to ensure compliance with Mines Regulations in New South Wales.
* Adhere to all site policies, legislative requirements, and statutory obligations.
* Conduct hazard reviews, incident investigations, and participate in risk assessments for daily activities and project work.
About You:
* Possession of a Mining Engineering degree (or equivalent).
* Extensive industry experience, including Mine Ventilation, Drill and Blast, and short-term planning.
* Proficiency in Deswik software for design, drill & blast, and scheduling.
* Keenness to contribute to mid-term planning and mine optimisation.
* Ability to produce a recent National Police Clearance for site access.
* Current unencumbered ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
