About the Role
Founded in 1992, ConnectAbility Australia has proudly provided a broad range of personalised supports and services for people with disabilities, throughout Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland, other Lower Hunter local government areas and on the Central Coast.
Currently we have opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated people to work as Support Workers in our Community Support Division, Central Coast based. Initially this is a casual position which can lead to a permanent part time opportunity. Our Support Workers play a valued and important role in providing quality care, supporting our clients to live the life they choose in a dignified and respectful way.

As a Support Worker you will be empowering people to achieve their goals, dreams, and aspirations, predominantly working one on one with customers, providing:
* Social and Recreational Support
* Domestic Support
* Personal Care and Medication Support
* Community Access
* Meal Preparation
* Maintaining customer records
* Developing and maintaining professional relationships and networks with customers, families, caregivers, and key stakeholders
* Working independently as well as within a team environment
About You
* You are passionate about supporting people with varying abilities and empowering the lives of others.
* You are compassionate and demonstrate empathy and a caring nature.
* Take responsibility, show initiative, and manage challenging situations calmly and rationally.
Essential for the Role
* Certificate III Individual Support (preferred) or demonstrated experience working with people with varying abilities, such as complex healthcare and behaviour support needs.
* Australian drivers licence (minimum P2)
* Reliable vehicle with comprehensive vehicle insurance.
* First Aid Certificate or the ability to attain one.
* NDIS Worker Screening Check or the ability to attain one.
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module or the ability to complete training.
* Working with Children Check (paid worker).
* Reliable smart phone.
* Flexibility to work varied shifts.
* Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite particularly MS Outlook and MS Word.
