Company Description We are thrilled to invite you to join us as our Conference and Events Sales Manager at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort & Convention Centre!This is a fantastic opportunity to lead our efforts in delivering exceptional experiences at the region's largest venue for conventions and events.Our purpose-built Convention Centre can host up to 1,500 guests, offering extensive hospitality and accommodation options for business conventions, exhibitions, and various events.Our resort features over 370 rooms, a refreshing pool, and a vibrant lagoon for water activities, all complemented by delicious dining options to ensure an unforgettable guest experience.In this key role, you will manage the entire event process, from initial confirmation and billing to post-event follow-ups, guaranteeing the highest level of client satisfaction.You'll lead our team of events specialists, support the wider Sales team, and cultivate strong client relationships for seamless planning.As part of the renowned Accor Group, you will play a vital role in our commitment to outstanding service and memorable guest experiences.Job Description As Conference and Events Sales Manager, you will collaborate with the Director of Sales to set Key Performance Indicators and departmental goals, fostering a culture of growth within the team.Additionally, you will: Oversee all aspects of conferences and events, ensuring client satisfaction from inception to post-event follow-up.Lead the Events Coordination team, managing daily operations and team dynamics.Ensure meticulous planning and effective communication for smooth transitions to the Banquets Operations team on event day.Handle internal communication, systems, billing, and reporting for the Events Coordination team.Use the Opera Sales & Event Management system for data analysis and creating detailed Banquet Event Orders.Build positive relationships with clients, event managers, and hotel departments for seamless planning.Identify and leverage upselling opportunities for conferences and events.Coordinate familiarization trips for the sales team and participate in expos as needed.Assist the team with quotes, site inspections, and contracts promptly. Qualifications 3+ years of sales experience in the hospitality sector, particularly in events.Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with strong negotiation and selling skills.Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—capable of building rapport and effectively presenting to clients.Strong project management abilities; adept at multitasking and managing multiple accounts and details.Passionate about delivering exceptional service and understanding client needs.Effective collaborator with internal teams to ensure seamless event execution.Creative and solution-oriented, skilled at resolving client challenges.
