The Opportunity
We are seeking a mature, dynamic and confident Management Accountant who is respectful, empathetic and able to build strong rapport with Traditional owners, ready to take on a leadership position where you will be responsible for the financial oversight of operations and associated Joint Ventures of the organisation. The role is critical in providing strategic financial guidance and includes budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support our growth and sustainability.
The Tasks Ahead:
* Preparing annual operational, capital expenditure, and revenue budgets aligned with long-term business strategies
* Maintaining and operating forecasting and reporting data to ensure efficient cost tracking and expenditure control
* Collaborating with joint venture partners to provide detailed costing information that assists in managing budgets and supports strategies for business development
* Overseeing the financial management of joint venture projects, ensuring that all costs, revenues, and profit shares are tracked and reported accurately to both internal stakeholders and joint venture partners
* Asset Management, including analysis on future spend for assets
* Leading and implementing improvement projects aimed at enhancing financial workflows and processes
* Assisting in month-end and year-end close processes with Financial Team
* Providing financial insights to the CEO and Board to support strategic decision-making
You Demonstrate...
* Understanding of and adherence to corporate and statutory Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental (OSH&E) requirements
* A Tertiary qualification in accounting and /or related discipline
* Professional certification (such as a CPA) is desired but not essential
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Management Accountant role, or equivalent
* Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Experience working with Indigenous organisations is desirable but not essential
* Proficient in accounting software, financial reporting, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* Understanding of the relevant Standards, Regulations and all other statutory reporting and auditing controls and mechanisms
* High level attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to manage Joint Venture financial structures
* Ability to understand and support Aboriginal Corporation and Enterprise funding and financial management processes
* Cultural sensitivity, with a high level of integrity and commitment to maintaining ethical standards
