Position summary
The position is responsible for managing an efficient IT / Telephony and Security for the hospital/facility. Coordinating breakdowns, liaising and organizing external contractors, ensuring compliance with relevant statutory requirements to support processes, budget and business direction of the hospital /facility.
The position will ensure a structured approach is undertaken to meet accreditation standards relevant to the Operational Support service as well as overseeing the identification of assets, testing of electrical equipment, participating in Emergency Codes (where relevant), grounds maintenance, pest control management, painting.
Demonstration of a commitment to continuous quality improvement through National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards (NSQHS), Workplace Health and Safety practices and an achievement of hospital/facility accreditation whilst delivering a high standard of customer service at all times is integral to this position.
As a Operational Systems/ Security and Infrastructure Manager, you will report to the General Manager.
Selection Criteria
·General IT / Telephony/ Security experience
·Fire & Emergency training
·Experience in Facility Management (Hospital Setting preferred)
·Effective communication and interpersonal skills
·Qualification in a relevant field preferred.

Preventative Maintenance and Asset Management
·Schedule maintenance tasks per manufacturer’s recommendations and Australian Standards
·Implement an efficient maintenance logging system, identify key performance indicators (KPIs) for turn around time and evaluate
·Adhere to the Healthscope IT and Security policies
·Prioritise repairs and systems maintenance
·Ensure efficient usage of the facility’s low patient activity times to plan significant works in discussion with General Manager/delegate
·Undertake a hands-on role
·Maintain statutory compliance records where necessary
·Provide management reports as requested
·Ensure condemned equipment is disposed and advise financial accountant of the need to remove item from asset register
·Work with the financial accountant to ensure all equipment is asset identified. Maintain appropriate records/documentation
External Contractors
·Utilise external contractors where required and to meet statutory regulations
·Negotiate efficient prices
·Coordinate external contractors whilst on site
·Oversee external contractors if hourly rate is quoted to ensure work is undertaken efficiently to minimize costs
·Ensure contractors are inducted according to Healthscope Work, Health and Safety policy including insurance and qualification checks. Maintain accurate records
·Ensure all contractors sign in as visitors to the hospital/facility and wear appropriate identification
·In consultation with General Manager ensure regular contracts are reviewed periodically and renegotiated according to the needs of the facility/hospitals (e.g. Biomedical, IT, Telephony, pest control etc.)
·Ensure contractors conduct themselves in a professional manner.
Tools and Equipment
·Ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe working manner
·Keep work areas tidy and free from tripping and other hazards
·In consultation with financial accountant establish trade accounts for the purchase of consumables
·Ensure efficient use of recyclable material wherever possible
·Periodically ensure all non usable material/rubbish is removed from premises
·Identify an appropriate equipment replacement/purchase program in consultation with the General Manager
