The Northern Peninsula Area State College (NPASC) is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Youth Support Coordinator to join their student support team. The successful candidate will work with girls in year 10-12 at the Bamaga Secondary Campus, promoting strong relationships between the college and families of students.

About The Area And The College:
Northern Peninsula Area (NPA) is a unique region, home to five First Nations communities, each with its own history, languages, and traditions influenced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage. NPASC operates three campuses, serving students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
About The Role:
* Work with girls in year 10-12 at the Bamaga Secondary Campus.
* Refer at-risk students to relevant agencies and services to overcome barriers to education and training.
* Provide individualized support, case management, and group support to maximize students' engagement with education and training.
Responsibilities Include:
* Identify barriers to young people achieving outcomes and refer them to appropriate support services.
* Maintain records of student contact on a daily basis.
* Support students to achieve satisfactory learning outcomes.
* Develop and monitor post-program support as required to meet performance criteria.
* Develop and foster relationships between the school and families of students to assist at-risk students to remain engaged with education or training.
* Conduct home visits with students and their families to advise and provide strategies for a positive educational experience.
* Collaborate with the professional team working with the school and community, liaising with students, teachers, parents, guidance officers, and other stakeholders.
* Monitor attendance patterns of students or groups of students and implement early intervention strategies as needed.
* Inform and educate parents, community members, and students on relevant issues impacting student engagement.
* Develop and implement programs to support social and emotional wellbeing as required.
* Identify and provide assistance to students experiencing difficulties at school and at home that may put them at risk of leaving school prematurely.
