Description We have a great opportunity for an experienced Fleet Engineering Manager to join our team and work on the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), the largest investment in new rollingstock in Queensland history. The Fleet Engineering Manager is a senior role reporting to the Technical Director on a major rollingstock and infrastructure project in Queensland, Australia. This role will have several direct reports which are to be built up as the project progresses. This role also reports to the General Manager TLS Engineering - Through Life Support (TLS) You will support the transition of the train design into a full suite of maintenance and fleet support documents for the TLS phase of the project. The Fleet Engineering Manager will also be directly involved in the rollout of the Integrated Operations Centre for fleet maintenance, improving upon the existing design methodology in place for other Australian fleets. The Fleet Engineering Manager is responsible for ensuring that approved relevant project engineering standards and tools are maintained within the guidelines of the various technical plans whilst ensuring overall compliance to regulatory requirements. The Discipline Manager reviews and evaluates technical work. About you: Minimum 10 years’ in managing the performance of rail passenger fleets Experience managing cross-functional technical teams in design, build and / or maintenance in rail. Expert knowledge and understanding of rolling stock electrical and mechanical systems. Knowledge of engineering processes, including failure-reporting, investigations, and engineering change. Knowledge of asset management, maintenance optimisation and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM). Knowledge of overhauls and mid-life upgrade of rollingstock. Responsibilities however not limited to: Manage and lead as required cross-functional design engineering teams to maintain a safe, compliant and reliable QTMP passenger fleet while maximising performance and profitability and fulfil contractual obligations relative to future demands. Provide engineering leadership in evaluating technical solutions, project activities and overhaul processes including developing and maintaining engineering procedures and test instructions. Liaise with the General Manager – TLS Engineering & Engineering and Capability where additional support is required from the engineering discipline teams to achieve the above outcomes and support their resourcing needs.
