Condobolin High School is an inclusive comprehensive secondary school in the township of Condobolin on the lands of the Wiradjuri people. It is a rural, six point incentive school and is located close to the geographic centre of New South Wales. Condobolin is about 2 hours from Orange and Dubbo. It is home to approximately 3500 people.
Of the current 215 students, 51.2% (110 students) identify as being of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. Our Stage 6 students are a part of the Lachlan Access Program (LAP). LAP is part of a diverse range of access programs across the state that provide opportunities for students to study Stage 6 courses within their own community.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Business Studies.
- Demonstrated ability to provide engaging and challenging differentiated programs to meet diverse student learning and wellbeing needs, including the needs of gifted and talented students and students needing learning support.
- Ability to implement high-leverage teaching strategies, positive classroom management strategies, literacy initiatives, and numeracy initiatives.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community
- Demonstrated understanding of, and the capacity to cater for, the needs of Aboriginal students
Conditions
The successful applicant may be eligible to receive a one-off recruitment payment of $20,000. (Conditions apply)
A relocation of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
