What is the unique purpose of the role?
Provide advanced level support of critical SCADA software applications and hardware/field devices so SA Water can monitor and control operational assets to deliver efficient, reliable, and cost-effective water services across South Australia. Provide advanced technical analysis and contribute to identifying, planning, developing, and delivering recommendations and technical SCADA solutions to meet SA Water needs.

Provide advice on the SCADA environment in assisting the business in achieving their objectives and business solutions.
Function as a project resource and undertake tasks allocated.
Help coordinate training program for SCADA Applications used by external contractors and business users.
Maintain documentation for training and processes used and managed by the team and their end users.
Systems, technical analysis, and provision of specialist advice
Provide technical and systems analysis and advice to key stakeholders in the support, maintenance, and enhancement of SA Water’s SCADA environment.
Effective and efficient classification and resolution of work requests, incidents, and requests for change, relating to SCADA, from Technology Support.
Work with the business and external parties to develop and negotiate system solutions for their more complex SCADA business requirements.
Extract, analyse and provide accurate data and information which meets the more complex SCADA requests from customers and management.
Work with projects delivering SCADA infrastructure to ensure standards compliance and the successful and complete system integration of new infrastructure, applications, and processes, including troubleshooting, and identifying improvements.
Effective administration of SCADA applications, including ensuring high availability, reliability, security and managing product lifecycles to ensure they are maintained and secured appropriately.
Adherence to and assisting with documenting TS0350 standards and SCADA processes and procedures.
Customer Service
Provide advice on SCADA applications in assisting the business in achieving their objectives and business solutions.
Demonstrated ability to build ongoing positive relationships with key customers and stakeholders to ensure workable business and technical solutions and the delivery of excellent customer service.
Innovation and systems improvement
Identify and develop improvements in SCADA environment security, performance, and availability.
Optimise change processes to facilitate appropriate integration of new applications and systems.
Keep up to date with industry best practice in alarm management and SCADA environment matters.
Provide specialist knowledge and support
Function as a subject matter expert and provide support for one or more of the following:Alarm Management, development, reporting, analysis, and training. Including Stakeholder negotiation and configuration development of alarms.
RTU, radio and modem configuration, reporting, communication fault diagnosis and remediation, and technical maintenance
Desktop and technology systems development and maintenance
SCADA graphics, tag management and backend systems development, maintenance, and support
Legacy systems support for applications used to manage legacy hardware and processes
Historical data systems reporting, configuration and support. Including stakeholder management with business users and support teams.
Knowledge, skills and experience the role requires
Criteria which will be used for recruitment and selection for this role:
Foundation Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential or Desirable
Relevant tertiary qualification or industry certification and/or a minimum of 5 years broad experience in SCADA application support and/or system integration
Essential
Experience with the use and application of SCADA systems in industrial environments, including application and device programming/configuration, database interaction and report creation tools
Essential
Extensive and comprehensive knowledge of SA Water’s SCADA applications, in particular GE iFix and Historian, OSIsoft PI or similar, and the business processes that are supported by those applications
Desirable
Comprehensive understanding of how SCADA applications integrate with field devices and telemetry, data storage and analytical systems
Desirable
Experience with SCADA application system development, enhancement and support policies and processes including application development and configuration, change and Risk management and quality assurance

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Expertise in Visual Studio\VBA, IsaGRAF and/or Ladder logic programming

Does the role have any unique requirements?
Participate in rotating 24x7 on call Support Roster as directed by the team lead
Flexible hours and some after hours as required, some intra and interstate travel (mandatory)
You will be required to undergo initial and subsequent medical clearances and immunisations to ensure your safety in performing the inherent requirements of your role, including but not limited to: Covid-19, Hepatitis A/B, Q Fever, and Flu (mandatory)
Depending on the role you will be required to undergo initial and/or subsequent clearance checks to ensure your ongoing suitability for the role. These may include a criminal police check, traffic check, Working with Children and/or Working with Vulnerable People (mandatory)
You will be required to hold a current driver’s licence at all times
