Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania's largest hospital, and the Department of Medical Imaging within the RHH provides imaging for all of Southern Tasmania. Medical Imaging provides services across all Imaging modalities to the hospital, clinics, and Emergency department. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
The Radiographer is responsible for:
* Performing basic imaging examinations to produce images of the highest diagnostic value possible whilst using ionising radiations, both in general and fluoroscopic radiography.
* Ensuring compliance with the ‘as low as reasonably achievable’ (ALARA) principle whilst using ionising and non-ionising radiation to provide images.
* Assessing medical requests, patient status and capabilities, ensuring procedure preparation is adequate and in accordance with correct protocol.
* Using imaging equipment and associated accessories safely, ensuring patient welfare and standard of care received, and avoiding causing hazards to self, other staff, patients, and equipment.
* Assessing and monitoring quality of images to ensure appropriate standards are maintained, confirming all image demographics and labelling are appropriate and correct, and ensuring that image archiving is completed, and imaging is available for viewing in the Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) as appropriate.

Details of appointment:
Multiple Permanent full-time and part-time shift worker (fully rotational) positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum.
* A market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata is applicable to this role.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.
* Registered with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia.
* Licensed to practice under Tasmanian Radiation Protection Act 2005 and the Radiation Protection Regulations 2016.
