Remuneration: $112,396 – $116,038 per annum + superannuation + salary packaging
About the Role
This dynamic role will see you enjoy a varied caseload, with an established roster as below:
Monday and Wednesday: Outpatient assignment. Monday is a combination of physiotherapy only hand patients and the Orthopaedic / Fracture clinic, whilst Wednesday is predominantly physio only hand patients. The outpatient service often requires support in Orthopaedic Clinics which is negotiated across the service as required.
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: Ward based, across Surgical, Maternity and Paediatric. You will be working as the lead of our junior level 1 and senior level 2 staff. There is a supportive educational focus within the team, and our designated Paediatric Outpatient Physiotherapist is available on Fridays for clinical advice as required.
In addition, we are currently implementing Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) practice for total knee replacement patients - this role will lead this project as it becomes embedded in practice.
The position is supported by the Level 6 Physiotherapist - Line Manager and the other senior staff in the Lower Hunter Physiotherapy service. We also have strong professional links with staff at Kurri Kurri and Cessnock hospitals.
You will have access to relevant professional development opportunities, as well as a department inservice programme monthly session.
About You
Skills in splinting and casting are essential for this role, as well as having knowledge and confidence in your scope of practice. You will demonstrate commitment to a continuous learning path relevant to your assigned caseload, and will demonstrate attributes conducive to the effective supervision, communication, and guidance of less skilled staff.
